Hi, I'm Zain.

I grew up in Mauritius, a tiny island in the Indian Ocean that most people have never heard of. At 18, I left home looking for better opportunities and eventually landed in Singapore, where I spent my time before COVID turned the world upside down. In 2021, I made the move to Canada, and honestly, it's been one of the best decisions I've ever made. This country welcomed me with open arms, and I'm proud to call it home.

I studied Marketing at the University of Ottawa and got my Bachelor of Commerce, but life had other plans for me career-wise. When you move to a new country—especially twice—you're thrown into the deep end with things like taxes, credit systems, banking, insurance, all of it. I had to figure out the Canadian financial system completely on my own, and let me tell you, it was overwhelming. But that struggle taught me something important: most people feel lost when it comes to money, and they just need someone who actually listens and breaks things down in plain language.

That's what led me here. Now I spend my days advising people on how to make smart financial decisions, and I genuinely love it. I get to help people avoid the confusion and stress I went through, and there's something incredibly rewarding about that.

Outside of Work

When I'm not talking finances, I'm usually doing something active. I'm one of those people who's always trying new sports—basically collecting them like Wii Sports at this point. I've also run multiple half-marathons's, a marathon and an ultramarathon. I'm drawn to challenges that test my limits, both physically and mentally.

​

I'm big on self-growth and keeping a positive mindset. Whether it's an inspiring podcast on a morning run, a good book before bed, or just conversations with people who challenge me to think differently, I'm always looking for ways to level up. Growth doesn't stop, and I love that.

Oh, and food. I'm obsessed with good food. Staying active means I get to eat well (it's science, I checked), and I take full advantage of that. I'm a total sucker for a good cookie. Dangerously so. If you've got a restaurant recommendation or a killer recipe, I'm all ears.
